Seems to me that the endless and apparently altruistic giving to charities demeans the passing of the individual. We each deserve our funeral wreath, our bunch of flowers which will wither in time. One man’s death needs marking.
Seems to me that the endless and apparently altruistic or symbolic giving creates the illusion – the delusion – that nothing bad has actually happened.
